Bahrain Among Contenders  

The 2025 Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship begins today in Ajman, UAE, bringing together elite athletes from across the continent. For Bahrain, the event presents a valuable test for the national programme’s growing structure in the sport.

Running through 18 June, the championship is considered one of the region’s most competitive bodybuilding events, offering athletes a platform to earn continental honours and boost their international profiles.

Measured Progress, Real Expectations

Led by Hamed Al Mehzaa, Vice President of the Bahrain Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, the Bahraini squad includes four athletes: Mohammed Bukhalaf, Khaled Al Saeedi, Abdullah Al Mansoor, and Sayed Hadi Hashem.  

Championship Growing in Scope

Hosted at Emirates Hall, the championship benefits from strong backing by the local government and organisers. The Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation reports a high number of entries this year, with a diverse field spanning weight classes and disciplines. That depth means reaching the podium will require both elite conditioning and strong execution.

The opening day features registration and athlete weigh-ins, with competition officially beginning shortly after. The format is traditional but demanding, placing emphasis on discipline, presentation, and marginal gains.
